Hospital Information

Dr. Ian Driben

Can you introduce yourself and your veterinary hospital?

My name is Ian Driven. They call me Dr. Ian. I'm one of the doctors here and also the owner of [practice: name]. We're a five-doctor small animal hospital accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association. We're also a second-generation, family-owned practice that was started by my dad back in 1967.

What is the mission of your veterinary hospital?

Our mission is to provide quality, personalized care to everyone who comes through our doors. We want every pet owner to feel welcomed, listened to, and cared for when they visit our hospital.

What does personalized veterinary care mean to you?

To me, personalized care means providing a spectrum of care. That means understanding that there's not just one choice when it comes to your pet's health.

We want to educate pet owners about the different options available while recognizing that every pet and family has unique circumstances. Sometimes we need to adjust our approach to fit those individual needs, and that's an important part of providing personalized care.

How do you approach your patients' overall health?

Overall, prevention is one of the most important things we can focus on. From puppies and kittens to senior pets, we want to help owners understand what they can do at home to support their pets' health.

Whether it's teaching someone how to brush their pet's teeth, discussing nutrition and exercise, or helping them recognize behavioral cues, our goal is to prevent problems whenever possible. I'd rather help keep your pet healthy than have you come in because something is wrong.

How important is communication in veterinary care?

Communication is one of the most important things we do here. It's about listening to pet owners and educating them so they can make informed decisions about their pets' care.

There's a lot of information available, and unfortunately, there's also a lot of misinformation. We want to provide accurate information, explain the different options, and help owners understand what makes sense for their individual pets.

What do you want pet owners to know about your hospital?

We've been part of this community for nearly 60 years, and we're proud of the relationships we've built along the way. Many of our clients have been coming here for generations, just as our hospital has remained family-owned across generations.

When I think about our practice, I think about all the relationships we've developed with pets and their owners. We're not just taking care of pets. We're taking care of the families who love them, too.
