Click here to go to our NEW ON-Line Pharmacy!!: Thank you for giving us the opportunity to explain to you the important benefits of purchasing products from your Veterinarians. Pet Owners have a number of options for procuring their pet's medications, including purchasing directly from their pet's doctor, purchasing online from an "Internet pharmacy" or purchasing from an "800 number" pharmacy. There are pros and cons to each of these options, and we want our clients to be fully informed so they can make the best choice for their household. Burl-Moor-Driben Animal Hospital is an authorized provider of the medications that we dispense, which means that the manufacturer of these drugs will stand behind their products if there are any problems. We obtain our products directly from the manufacturer or their authorized distributors (usually by overnight shipment) to distribute to you here at Burl-Moor-Driben Animal Hospital or take advantage of our new On-Line Pharmacy where these products are shipped directly to your home straight from our authorized distributors & manufacturers maintaining our products quality and integrity (e.g. adhering to temperature regulations)!! "Internet pharmacies", "800 number pharmacies", and similar businesses (e.g. product catalogs) are not authorized resellers of the pharmaceuticals they dispense in many cases. Products sold through over the counter channels are not monitored or regulated by any federal or state agencies like the Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners. Some of these businesses obtain product by purchasing it from "middle men" who acquire the product (2nd, 3rd, or 4th hand) from authorized channels and divert it into unauthorized channels (where they may store products in an unregulated warehouse or storage facility for an extended period of time). Pharmaceutical manufacturers will not guarantee their products if they are not purchased from an authorized seller, so if any problems develop, the pet owner is "on their own". The Food and Drug Administration reports that buying drugs online can be risky.
Don't worry you can still call us by phone or talk to us in person, because we will still be maintaining our full in-house pharmacy. We also always provide written prescriptions to our client when they request them. We just want you to be properly informed so that you can decide on the best way to use the prescription. We thank you for your continued support and appreciate your letting us be a part of your pet's health care team. Sincerely, The Doctors of Burl-Moor-Driben Animal Hospital, LLC |
